Who we are

Skeptics (“we”, “us”) is an AI strategy and implementation consultancy based in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. This policy covers the website at skeptics.io. For questions, email hello@skeptics.io.

What we collect

Information you give us

When you submit our inquiry form or book a call, we collect what you enter: name, work email, company, role, company size, industry, the challenges you describe, approximate budget and timeline. We also record the page you submitted from and, if present, campaign parameters (such as UTM codes) and the referring site, so we understand how you found us.

Information collected automatically

We use website analytics to understand aggregate traffic — pages visited, approximate region, device type and referring sources. Depending on our current configuration this is provided by a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics service or by Google Analytics. Where a tool sets cookies or similar identifiers, we ask for your consent first via the banner on this site and honor your choice.

Cookies and local storage

We use browser storage to remember your analytics consent choice and, during a single visit, the campaign parameters described above. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies without your consent.

How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiry and schedule conversations you request.
  • To evaluate and scope a potential engagement.
  • To understand how our website is used and improve it.
  • To measure the effectiveness of our outreach and marketing.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.

We do not sell personal information. We do not add you to marketing email lists without asking you first, and every marketing email we send includes a working unsubscribe link.

Service providers

We rely on third-party services to operate this site and respond to you. These may include a form-processing service (to receive your inquiry), a scheduling service (to book calls), an analytics service, our email provider (Microsoft 365), and a customer relationship management system. Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms and security commitments. Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log technical request data such as IP addresses in the ordinary course of serving the site.

Legal basis and your rights

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we process your information to take steps at your request before entering a contract, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving our business, and — for consent-based analytics — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither). To exercise any right, email hello@skeptics.io. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law.

Data retention

We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to evaluate and, if applicable, perform an engagement, and afterwards for a reasonable period for record-keeping. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Security

Form submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections to our form-processing provider. No credentials or secret keys are stored in this website’s code. We limit access to inquiry data to the people who need it to respond to you.

Children

This site is intended for business audiences and not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

International visitors

We are based in the United States and process data here. If you contact us from outside the US, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.

Changes

We may update this policy as our services or tooling change. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
